Hello, this is Sun Hwa-jung from Brand Creative 4 Team. VITALBEAUTIE's META GREEN SLIM UP, selling three packs every second, is a product designed to assist in managing body fat joyfully and healthily. To captivate the hearts of Millennials and Gen Z, who seek enjoyable and healthy dietary management, we have collaborated with globally beloved characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pochacco. I want to share the process of seamlessly integrating META GREEN with these adorable Sanrio characters.

 

 

 

 

 

What poses suit the META GREEN line?

 

 

 

From hundreds of art sources provided by Sanrio Korea, we selected character poses and outfits that effectively communicated the product concept of META GREEN, focusing on body fat and dietary metabolism management.

 

 

 

 

We also developed graphics such as scales, plates, and exercise equipment based on existing character art sources to design packaging that encapsulates each character's story. Consideration was given to suitable background patterns, adhering to each character's design guidelines during the final review.

 

 

 

Bold Departure from Green Color

 

 

Traditionally, META GREEN has been associated with the color green, which symbolizes its vital ingredient, green tea catechins. However, to enhance the collectability of this edition for customers, we boldly diverged from green and applied various colors that harmonize with the characters. This led to the birth of diverse META GREEN collaboration products, each embodying the endearing charm of the characters more effectively. Let's delve into the developmental stories of each character.

 

 

 

Hello Kitty: A Symbol of Cuteness and Joyful Meal Times

 

 

 

For the Hello Kitty collaboration, we incorporated illustrations featuring Hello Kitty holding a fork and spoon, reminiscent of her fondness for her mother's apple pie and the delightful mealtime routines of her and her friends. We aimed to convey the joy of eating healthily and happily rather than the guilt associated with eating, showcasing the product's inherent functionality attractively.

 

 

 

 

Designed like a fancy item for everyday enjoyment, the bottle and pouch feature Hello Kitty's face, which is more significant than the product name. Pink was chosen as the primary color, effectively capturing Hello Kitty's lovable essence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My Melody's Workout Routine, Brimming with Love

 

 

In the My Melody collaboration, we aimed to encapsulate the product's attributes by utilizing images of My Melody and her friends engaging in adorable exercises. Considering the color palettes that complement My Melody, we designed two color versions tailored to different sales channels. The bottle variations feature My Melody holding a spoon and fork or grasping the META GREEN SLIM UP.

 

 

 

 

For the bottles, pouches, and boxes sold through the Olive Young channel, we applied the pink color of the scarf made by her grandmother to emphasize My Melody's cute and lovable essence. The packaging maximized the loveliness of the pink color by incorporating her best friends and heart graphics.

 

 

 

 

For the online channel, we applied the color of My Melody's ribbon. The packaging featured her and her friends exercising, conveying the product's dietary attributes to customers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pochacco's Passionate Diet Adventure

 

 

The Pochacco collaboration was expanded to include the META GREEN SLIM UP and META GREEN Booster Shot products. We chose a mint color for Pochacco's META GREEN SLIM UP to capture his curious charm. The packaging was designed with yellow point colors and unique patterns, which serve as eye-catching elements.

 

 

 

 

 

For the META GREEN SLIM UP product, we depicted a joyous Pochacco art source holding a fork, conveying the fun atmosphere of dieting with META GREEN. We also showcased Pochacco energetically lifting heavy dumbbells for the Booster Shot, highlighting the product's functional aspect.

 

 

 

 

META GREEN SLIM UP was photographed using props including plates, water cups, forks, and knives to encapsulate the product's attributes. META GREEN Booster Shot incorporated balloons and balls to create an image of lightness, conveying indirectly the feeling of a lighter body.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Goods that Capture Diverse Charms

 

Additionally, to maximize the impact of the character collaboration, we designed goods for customers purchasing META GREEN products. Various types of pouches, name tags, and phone grips were designed to embody the charms of the Sanrio characters richly.

 

 

 

 

Perhaps the most rewarding thing for product designers is finding positive comments about their designs in customer reviews. Quite a few customers collected our collaboration bottles and shared their reviews and photos. We also achieved notable milestones, such as a 50% increase in sales compared with the previous year, ranking first in the health food category at Olive Young and first across all Olive Young products. The strategy of enhancing the collectible value of our collaboration project proved effective and gratifying. We extend our gratitude to the numerous customers who have supported VITALBEAUTIE's limited-edition designs.
