AMOREPACIFIC STORIES introduces a new message and artwork each month, offering inspiration on the theme of ‘beauty.’
#Theme
A small dream that began with a single drop of camellia oil has become a beauty that transforms the world.
From door-to-door sales that brought products directly to customers, to cushion foundations that captivated the globe, to becoming the world’s first beauty company to cultivate tea gardens—Amorepacific has consistently stayed one step ahead, setting new standards for beauty under the mission of “We make A MORE Beautiful world.”
For this AMOREPACIFIC STORIES Featured Image, we’ve collaborated with artist Jongee Park, who creates stories through the medium of ‘paper,’ to capture the journey and philosophy of Amorepacific as it celebrates its 80th anniversary. Jongee Park’s work begins with transforming flat paper into three-dimensional objects—a process that mirrors Amorepacific’s own journey of defining and realizing concepts of beauty. Just as individual sheets of paper come together to form forests, paths, and landscapes, the philosophy that Amorepacific has cultivated has become a culture and a force that beautifully transforms the world.
This autumn, we invite you to journey with AMOREPACIFIC STORIES through Jongee Park’s world, where you’ll discover the philosophy that Amorepacific has carried for 80 years and the essence of ‘Create New Beauty.’

Hello, I’m Jongee Park, a paper artist. Through the medium of paper, I’m expanding the memories of my childhood spent in nature—along with the colors, forms, light, and fragrances I’ve seen and felt throughout my life—into a three-dimensional world.

Q. Could you please introduce the works you’ve created?
I wanted to capture the message of Amorepacific’s vision, ‘Create New Beauty,’ in this work. I once watched tulips bloom and wilt at their own pace, and I was deeply moved by how beautiful they were in their own right at any moment, regardless of the passage of time. I discovered a timeless beauty in their ever-changing appearances, which I felt connected to the idea that everyone possesses their own unique beauty—the essence of ‘Create New Beauty.’ That’s why I named the piece “Moments of Beauty.”
The other work, “Cake,” was chosen to commemorate Amorepacific’s 80th anniversary. Through the cake—a symbolic object for celebrating milestones—I expressed my support for Amorepacific’s long journey and the new beginnings that lie ahead.
Q. What were your thoughts when you first heard ‘Create New Beauty’?
It felt like receiving encouragement. For those who have already found their own beauty, it came across as the affirmation ‘You’re doing well,’ and for those still searching, it offered the warm message ‘You have your own unique beauty, and you’ll discover it soon.’
Q. What would you say is your own enduring beauty—something about you that remains unchanged over time?
I think it’s the way I seek out the process of getting to know myself. Everyone goes through life constantly wondering what they like and how they want to live. I believe that’s where our unique energy comes from. It might sparkle like stars, flow gently like water, or spread softly like a subtle fragrance. That distinctive energy that emerges from the process of discovering ourselves—isn’t that what ‘New Beauty’ is all about?
Q. Do you have any habits or principles in your daily life for creating your own beauty?
I set routines that align with the flow of the seasons and practice them consistently. I nourish my body and mind with foods made from seasonal ingredients, and in summer, when the sun rises early, I start my day a bit earlier too. I also spend more time outdoors. Conversely, in winter, when the sun sets early, I wrap up my day sooner.
Q. What methods do you primarily use when bringing beauty to life in your work?
I have a habit of collecting and recording things. I photograph beautiful colors I see in passing, transcribe sentences that resonate with me from books, and sketch memorable mise-en-scènes from films. I believe that the moment I capture something in writing rather than letting it pass by, it becomes mine. Those accumulated beauties settle in my heart and mind, then naturally permeate my work.
Q. Is there a particular point you hope people will feel when viewing your work?
Since I often draw from memories of my childhood by the seaside, people frequently tell me my work feels like fairy tales. In that spirit, I hope my pieces help viewers rediscover the childlike wonder they may have forgotten, and that through their own unique emotions and memories, they’ll find their own stories.
Q. Is there something you’d like to convey through this particular work?
We all live at our own pace in this rapidly changing world. Sometimes we think, ‘Why am I so slow when that person is moving so fast?’ However, when time passes and we look back, we realize that we are who we are today because of that very process. I believe that someday, when we look back at the present from the future, we’ll remember it beautifully. I hope that people will gain a sense of this through the work, that they should ‘embrace their own pace.’
Q. Finally, could you share a message for those who are working to discover their own beauty?
When I was deeply pondering about my career path, my father told me this: “You’re still young, so you don’t know how brilliant you are. Believe in the sparkling ability within you and keep moving forward—things will work out well.” Everyone has a brilliant ability within their heart. I hope they’ll discover and nurture that ability at their own pace, like tulips that bloom at different speeds but are all beautiful in their own way.
