May, rightfully dubbed the Queen of Season, is cool in the mornings, hot during the day, and when the sun goes down, the heat of the day disappears and becomes chilly. Perhaps this is why the flowers and trees with brilliant colors shine in their spectacular spring hues, sometimes with deeper greens and reds, while at other times they hide in the shadows depending on where the sun hits. May is by far the season of fresh green scenery as plants begin to sprout new leaves. These days, however, it is not easy to savor the romance of May because of climate change. What in the world is going on with this planet? Many talk about things like climate change, missing honey bees, and the rising sea level. We see and hear about this here and there, on news apps on the phone, on the radio, or TV, but it is not easy to be alert to all those issues. Still, reflecting the latest trend in which the world has developed an interest in environmental issues, a media platform has recently been launched that is dedicated to the environment. If you have been interested in, or concerned about environmental keywords like nature, the environment, and the planet as you hear or watch the news, even if you have not gone as far as subscribing to an environment only OTT platform, I recommend that you watch these aries. Any OTT service you may be subscribed to has good environmental aries worth watching. However, this doesn’t mean that you should just sit in front of your monitor with a sullen face or a heavy heart. What you are doing really is slowly and naturally including the keyword planet in your list of interests and search algorithms.

<DAVID ATTENBOROUGH : A LIFE ON OUE PLANET>

This show features David Attenborough, who is now a huge influencer and has attracted one million followers in the shortest period of time on social media. You may picture a young man with a great sense of style, but he is actually a 96-year-old British knight. He is one of the best and most well-known ary narrators who worked on The Blue Planet and A Life on Our Planet . He is also a zoologist and a master of aries. Reportedly, the reason he started using social media was to inform as many people as possible about these aries that convey his caring message for the planet. His aries cover many topics on nature and humanity, starting with the ruins of Chernobyl and carrying through to the beauty of nature, primeval forests, women’s education, and social participation.

<My Octopus Teacher>

Winner of the Best Feature ary in the 2020 Academy awards, Best Edited Feature ary from American Cinema Editors Award, and the Best Film from the BAFTA Film Awards. Craig Foster, who has returned home to South Africa after feeling doubts about his life, begins free diving and observes the octopuses he meets under the sea. Although often described as grotesque, alien-like creatures, they resemble humans more than anything else. They cover themselves with seashells to hide their body and interact with people if they are convinced that they won’t hurt them. They also use their wits to swim away and escape from predators. Learn why Foster refers to them as teachers after observing their life.

<Earth : One Amazing Day>

What happens on earth during one day? This film tells us that even at this moment, unimaginable miracles are constantly happening on the Earth. In the morning when the earth awakes, in the most barren land of the Galapagos, a newly born iguana runs away from the predator, a racer snake, while elsewhere a baby panda goes out to see bamboo groves in deep forests where the sun pours down, and a whale swims through the glaciers on which the sun shines. In the afternoon in Africa under the hot scorching sun, seemingly gentle giraffes are involved in a fierce fight. Later in the evening when the sun sets, penguins in Antarctica finish their long tiring day nursing their babies, while inside a cave, fireflies put on a spectacular show of lights where they spend the long dark nights. This is a ary that shows you the beginning and the end of the world, filled with the miracles of all moments.

<I Am Greta>

A girl is shown in a yellow raincoat with deep, intense eyes and her lips are tightly closed with strong determination. The name of the ary and the name of the girl in the poster is Greta Thunberg. In 2018, the then 15-year-old girl begins to protest alone in front of the Parliament every Friday instead of going to school, in order to demand that politicians enact a bill on climate change. Her small actions spread across not just Sweden but the world, leading to the beginning of the Fridays for Future movement. This ordinary teenage girl moves the hearts of millions of students and transforms into a global teenage environmentalist who denounces the insensitiveness of adults. After about a year, a miracle happens, or you could say she creates a miracle of crossing the Arctic Ocean on a solar yacht to attend the UC Climate Action Summit on September 2019.

<BEFORE THE FLOOD>

Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has stepped up for the environment. Before the Flood was made by Academy-winning director Fisher Stevens and actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The film captures the shocking truth of the earth as it undergoes evermore severe changes. It traces us back to the time when global warming was treated as a simple political issue or even as a fabrication up to the time when it developed into a social movement backed by real evidence and news reports. It also tells us which direction we should take. This 2016 film also mentions carbon emissions tax. In other words, we can check how far we’ve come in 2022 and how much progress we have made and also see the global trend at a glance. Let’s watch this solemn future as described by Leonardo closely as well as our current status, and the outlook for the years ahead.
