Girls' Generation is without doubt the top girl group in Korea. Yoona, the center of the group, is the most popular member and much loved by Hallyu (Korean wave) fans. It's been several years now since she made her debut and, in that time, her image has gone from girl to lady. During her 10 years in showbiz, she has continually reinvented herself as singer and actress, though she has never forgotten her initial resolve. It was her passion that kept her going forward with brilliance, rather than running after fame and popularity.

Now that our promotion work has ended in success thanks to the support of all our fans, we are each doing individual activities. Last month, I attended innisfree Green Bicycle Tour in Beijing, China. I had a good time, meeting and communicating with Chinese fans.

We like to showcase many different concepts while promoting the album. I personally like to find a style that best fits each concept.
I think good style encompasses elements like hair, makeup and fashion which coordinate with the central concept and, at the same time, look great on me.

As the center of Girls' Generation and actress, Yoona is a well-rounded entertainer. She joined SM Entertainment through an open audition in 2002 when she was in the sixth grade of elementary school and was trained over five years before making her debut in August 2007 with Girls' Generation single album, Into the New World. Girls' Generation soon made it to the top spot in Korea with a series of hits, starting from the first mini album, Gee in 2009, with songs like Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) and Oh! Yoona has achieved considerable success as a singer and as an actress after starring in a leading role in a popular Korean TV series. She now is at a point in her life where she maps out a future for herself.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the fans of Girls' Generation. I think that many fans like the positive energy we have. Our recent appearance in entertainment and documentary programs showed some sides of ours that we have not yet shown, which made us appear more approachable and friendly. We have always enjoyed our work for Girls' Generation, no matter how busy we were, and I think fans can sense this.

Both – they are both so appealing that it is difficult to choose one. (Laughter). There are many sides of me that I have not yet shown. Please look forward to seeing me not only on the stage, but also on screen.

I was both terrified and excited at playing my first foreign drama. It was a historical drama and involved much hard work, including dubbing in Chinese. But, I adapted well to life in China over our five months' filming there. I also studied Chinese a lot during my stay. I'd love to act in foreign films if I get the opportunity to do so.

It's been around 10 years since Yoona made her debut and she has fulfilled many of her ambitions. She got to the top of the K-pop world as a member of Girls' Generation and landed the lead role in You Are My Destiny, Cinderella Man and many others. In The Prime Minister and I, she was set to show a messed-up look. She made a drastic transformation into a cleaning lady and acted drunk on screen. This role really showed her actress skills had come of age. Her fan base now includes men and women of all ages as she widened the field of her activities from a singer to an actress to become a true national superstar.

I think it's all about having the right mental attitude. You find good energy springing up from within when you work with a merry heart, even if you don't initially seem to have it.

Good reviews make me work harder, but always with a glad heart. In The Prime Minister and I, I had great fun acting as my character. There were many similarities between herself and me.

I am the middle one in Girls' Generation according to our age. I wanted to be a good big sister to Seohyun and a good friend with other members, but was not sure whether what I was doing was the right approach. I wanted other members to know that I have always cared a lot of them. I hope we get along well for many years to come.

Yoona's clean and beautiful face is one of reasons why she is so well loved. Yoona has consistently ranked top in many surveys, such as which girl group member will still look beautiful after 50 years, the best looker chosen by boy and girl group members, and the girl group member whose beauty is reminiscent of the cosmos flower. In addition, she plays a trend-setting celeb through CFs. She is recognized as the belle of Korea to the extent that there are many common search terms associated with her name and beauty, including Yoona's makeup style and Yoona's skin. Working as a model for innisfree since 2009, Yoona became the face of the brand on a global basis in 2014, delivering Asian beauty across the world.

Makeup is important, but I think what's most important in skincare is having a good cleansing routine. I have to wear makeup every day and stay that way for hours due to the nature of my work. This is why cleansing is more important than anything else. I also use moisturizers and mask packs as often as possible to keep my skin moist.

More and more boy and girl group members are seeking to get into acting. However, Yoona is well-prepared for the challenges ahead thanks to her hard work and strong talent. Yoona is at the pinnacle of Hallyu and the forefront of K-pop in her role as the center of Girls' Generation, as well as delivering memorable performances in her lead roles in Korean and Chinese TV series.
