Makeup Your Life is a campaign to help female cancer patients suffering from hair loss and other sudden changes in their appearance due to cancer treatment through makeup and skincare programs. This year, again, it was held in Vietnam – in the capital city Hanoi, which marked a change from the previous year when it was held in Ho Chi Minh City. Here we give a brief of Makeup Your Life at a hotel located in Hanoi, Vietnam on May 11.

As one of AMOREPACIFIC's main CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, Makeup Your Life now goes to China and Vietnam beyond Korea. Its purpose is the same everywhere: to help female patients overcome pain and depression during their cancer treatment and build up a positive attitude toward life. The video at the beginning of the event particularly resonated with Vietnamese cancer patients. It showed stories of Korean women who once suffered just like them, but now live a healthy life.

They were then divided into two groups so that one group could get the makeup service while the other group learned how to do makeup and take good care of their skin. Participants had to learn about products because makeup and skincare products were given to them as a gift. They were also introduced with meditation technique, one of the ways to help them take a positive attitude toward life through their inner and outer beauty.

The following talk-show was hosted by guest MC and cancer survivor Ms. Thao Van and Dr. Hyuen, an expert in breast cancer. Ms. Thao Van inspired and encouraged participants in this Makeup Your Life event with her story and Dr. Hyuen offered professional advice about how to fight cancer through systematic treatment.

AMOREPACIFIC Vietnam BAs after the event said that they felt a sense of reward in helping patients. "It's my third Makeup Your Life event and it has always impressed me," said BA Ms. Nhi who participated in every Makeup Your Life held in Vietnam. She added that she wished to see the event across Vietnam after the first Makeup Your Life in Hanoi this year. Plus, LANEIGE and Sulwhasoo BAs who came all the way from Ho Chi Minh City said that they were proud to be part of AMOREPACIFIC holding such a meaningful event.

Meanwhile, Makeup Your Life in Vietnam is introduced through state-run broadcasting stations and the local press and it was aired through a local station this year as well. We sincerely hope that Makeup Your Life continues to inspire female cancer patients through makeup and spreads a message of hope all over Vietnam.
