# Julia Yang, the head of Amorepacific China LANEIGE Division

 Julia Yang (Chinese: 杨俊琳) joined Amorepacific in 2003. Starting out as a LANEIGE sales representative in Huadong, Shanghai, Julia Yang was promoted as LANEIGE and Mamonde sales manager in 2005 and worked for Lolita Lempicka and innisfree as well. In 2007, she was promoted to the LANEIGE nationwide sales manager and at the same time, managed the sales of Sulwhasoo working to expand its market presence. And from 2012, she put her focus solely on LANEIGE as the head of Amorepacific China LANEIGE Division.

# Brand positioning design to take a giant leap

 "LANEIGE was positioned as a 'regional brand' when it first made a debut in China. Just like Aupres* and AQUA*. It then transformed itself with a new position as a 'imported brand' in 2005. Competitors laughed at us at that time and customers didn't recognize us at first, but because of our hard work, LANEIGE has become an established global brand in China."

* Aupres : Aupres (欧珀莱) is a China-exclusive brand of Shiseido offering middle-priced goods
* Aqua : AQUA (雅呵雅) is a local production brand of Kanebo Cosmetics


 LANEIGE noticed that customers living in different regions have different needs. In the first-tier cities, LANEIGE offered mostly makeup products useful for makeup touch-ups such as BB Cushion, and focused on products for easy, quick and convenient makeup in the third- and fourth-tier cities where customers are not yet accustomed to makeup. And at the same time, LANEIGE sought to stay up to date with market trends, the competitive landscape and changing customer needs. As a result, it has grown into a global premium brand.

 Julia holds a discussion and brainstorming session with members of the division on a regular basis. She also visits stores to see what's going on and encourages BAs through regular face-to-face talks. And she works to grow together, sharing any successful case of teams and stores as motivation. "I am a positive person and active in everything I do. Such a personality is reflected in my work; I actively do my job and keep an open mind. And I think, leaders must be open-minded."

 Amorepacific was not her choice, but a friend's recommendation 14 years ago and yet it has since become 'the place where her dreams have come true.' She hides her light under a bushel, but her experience and know-how are found all around Amorepacific China.

 Julia Yang is now ready to take LANEIGE up a notch. She is doing her utmost to ensure stable growth as one of five global brands of Amorepacific and bring more innovative change into the brand. Gentle and yet charismatic Julia Yang spearheading LANEIGE as a forward-looking leader is rightly hailed as the first global 'creative master' of Amorepacific.
