Chapter 7. Introduction of Office Space in the New HQ

Introducing the new headquarters of Amorepacific situated in Korea

 Now the date of moving to the new HQ building is decided, and some colleagues are already working in Yongsan. The new HQ building is in the last phase of its decoration to welcome Korean employees. Today, I will introduce the office space where we will spend most of our time after moving in.

1. Workspace

 Many colleagues may already know that the workspace is designed to be an open-plan space to provide transparency and an opportunity to strengthen communication and collaboration among workers on the same floor. A desk for six and a storage are provided to each team, and a drawer and a lamp are provided to each person. The desk for six has no legs at the corners so that you can comfortably seat at any position. It will be easy to take the seat right beside your colleague for a simple discussion and the like.

2. Meeting Space

 While the workspace is wide-open, there are some partitions installed. A group of people can use this space for a quick meeting or decision making. Everything needed for a meeting from partitions to block the noise to movable monitors is furnished there. As this meeting space can be used without reservation, you can use it with coworkers working near you.

 In the new HQ building, you can see many types of meeting space the Signature Camp didn't have. That is because there are pieces of furniture installed to be used as a small meeting space or a personal, focused workspace. You can see how the casual meeting room that can accommodate up to four people and the personal focus workspace look from the above images.
 A conventional meeting room looks like this. With the emphasis on openness and transparency, the entrance of the meeting room is made of glass to allow visibility from inside and outside. However, the meeting room is partitioned with soundproof double glass walls to safely block the noise.

3. Other Space in the Building

 Every floor has interior stairs to be used when moving to a near floor. Instead of using the elevator, you can use the stairs when you need to travel a few flights of stairs. You don't have to tag your employee ID to use the stairs. However, the stairs don't connect all the floors because they are designed for moving between relevant departments.
 Near the interior stairs, hubs are arranged. Similar to the hubs arranged in the floors of the Signature Camp at present, you can check the updates for the brands and news on the company with visual materials. I hope this new hub space can be used not only as a rest space but also as a casual meeting space.
