2016 is fast coming to a close. Amorepacific have accomplished great success again this year thanks to its members passion and challenging spirit. To share some of the outstanding achievements of AP Group members over the past year, a special 2016 ABC Awards ceremony was held in the Jangwon Hall of Yongin L&D Center on December 8. Here are some of the best moments from the event that introduced exceptional accomplishments exemplifying the five values of AP Group – openness, integrity, innovation, proximity and challenge – and singularity.

The media arts of 10 Amorepacific brands, including 5 global champion brands, were displayed in the lobby of Yongin L&D Center. The video in the monitors were streamed to each brand's Instagram real time.
About 400 people attended the event, including executives, team leaders and associates from global branches.

The 2016 ABC Awards included a number of global cases from China, Japan and India. In total, 18 presentations were made this year under five areas (Engine Product/strengthening retail capabilities/TCR/sustainability/digital), following the introduction of new theme of digital.
Colleagues cheered for the presenters as they stepped up to stage.
Although the presentations took some time, attendees listened carefully and were effusive with their applause.
The host Cho Sunghoon danced "Gangnam Style", exciting the audience.
After 18 presentations and judging, the winners for grand prize and creative master award were announced. The winner of grand prize was Hwang Soyeon from ETUDE BM2 Team!
The ceremony was a great opportunity for all the audience to share some of the meaningful achievements of 2016, regardless of whether they received an award.

"Unstoppable Drive of Play 101 Stick Toward the Latest Trends"

We launched the Play 101 Stick in a scalable, stick-style case to enable easy and fast contouring, reflecting the latest makeup trends. We expanded our contact points with customers by utilizing global beauty endorsers for contents delivery and actively taking advantage of various digital platforms.
We believe the award represents an encouragement for all ETUDE associates to try harder in the coming years. I am really happy to see all the endeavors of many colleagues in launching the product get appreciated and loved this much. We will make every effort to extend the success of ETUDE into next year as a beloved brand of global customers.

Creative Master Award

Cha Youngho/ Amorepacific Makeup Production Team
"The Blooming Moment of Makeup Flower"

We developed an innovative technology for the mass manufacture of innovative products such as multi-color lipsticks. This was something that had been impossible with our previous approach to lipstick production. We will use the recognition of our innovation process and the effort of SCM as a sign of encouragement for us to proceed with further improvements.
To solidify our competitiveness in the makeup market, we need a nimble SCM response for innovative, differentiated products. We will continue to vigorously pursue the advancement of the manufacturing environment from technology development to mass-production.

"Let's Play in the ETUDE Digital Playground!"

'It was a hard time for ETUDE! But we made it. As always, ETUDE will figure out a solution for any challenge.' I could not hold back the tears as I brought the presentation to an emotional close. Having experienced the ups and downs of ETUDE together for the past five years, I learned how much I love the brand and colleagues.
Whenever another difficult time comes, I will recall this awesome experience and the big smiles I could see on the faces of the audience in the ABC Award presentation. Remembering the smiles, I will always do my best in my position and for ETUDE and Amorepacific Group. I truly appreciate the support of our ETUDE colleagues.

"Ryo Becomes a Sensation in the Highly Competitive Chinese Market"

From the outset, Ryo had to make its own way into the market, while overcoming prejudice about the business in China and facing down tough competition from numerous brands. Although Ryo in China started with only a couple of associates and no clear plan for product naming or SKUs, it gradually set the foundation for marketing with the support of HQ and APC.

The achievement, albeit small considering the overall size of the company, was made possible because HQ and APC worked hard to agree a joint definition of the market and establish and implement a strategy based on customer insights, instead of fearing failure. There is still a long way to go. We will strive to promote Ryo's essential values by strengthening communication with customers. Please stay tuned for our great journey to reach KRW 100 billion by 2018 and become top 3 premium brand by 2020.

"Geumchon, A Story That Never Ends"

The unwavering passion of Geumchon Exclusive Agency enabled this achievement, despite the troublesome start. I could not believe that I was standing on the stage with gold award winners who had made such stellar performances in Korea and overseas. I still feel the excitement of that moment.
I would like to share this honor with all the Amore Counselors who are ready to fulfill customers' expectation and demands any time.

Park Okhee/ Yangjae Hanaro Club
"Yangjae Is Gangnam Style"

We were able to grow our sales by differentiated shelf display and focused marketing on selective premium and new products. This very much met the preference of Gangnam district customers, deviating from the typical promotional events of discount retailers.
As it was the first time that Hanaro Club's case won the ABC Award, I am more honored and feel a profound sense of responsibility. I think the award was for all the Floras who had gone through tough times this year. We will definitely reach the goal again in the coming year.
