Archive to keep the 70-year history of AP Group

Introducing special places embracing the singularity of Amorepacific Group

  • The view of Amorepacific Archive

As the undisputed leader of the Korean beauty industry, Amorepacific Group has recorded a staggering number of moments of being the best and first, and such moments of history are now remembered in a single place: Amorepacific Archive at Amorepacific Beauty Campus located in Osan, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Here we introduce the Archive, where the 70-year history of Amorepacific Group is kept safe for all to see. Opening the door to the Archive, it will take you back to the good old days of Amorepacific Group.

A collection of nearly 80,000 records and materials to show the history of Amorepacific Group

Amorepacific Archive was established to collect, preserve, manage, learn and exhibit all the records and materials related to the company. The collection began in 1981. In 2006, it was named Archive and, in 2015, it saw a new beginning with the completion of new construction within the Beauty Campus celebrating the 70th anniversary of Amorepacific Group.

Nearly 80,000 records are kept here in storage, the sorting room and the studio on the 1st floor while six exhibition halls and offices are located on the 2nd floor. There are six exhibition halls on the 2nd floor that are open the public; each presenting products, photos and advertisements with different themes for the vivid and lively presentation of Amorepacific Group's history.

Exhibition of everything that's the best and first

The theme of the first exhibition hall is the Forest of Brands and it reveals the technological power of Amorepacific Group built over 70 years through a series of innovations. This is the exhibition space for products from the past including ABC released in 1951, Coty, Lido and SAMMI as well as products of five global champion brands – Sulwhasoo, LANEIGE, Mamonde, innisfree and ETUDE HOUSE.

The second exhibition hall shows the achievements of the founder Suh Sungwhan. From the handwritten note by the founder to his contribution and diary, every exhibit is imbued with his passion to build the first research lab in the Korean beauty industry and make the best beauty company in the world.

The third exhibition hall is storage designed for exhibitions where many historical records and materials of Amorepacific Group are kept. It would be fun to look around all the items there related to the company from the past, including a bag of door-to-door saleswoman, uniform, publications and design drafts from the 1980s and test paper for the research lab employment exam in the 1970s.

Moreover, the fourth exhibition hall is a recreation of the research lab in the 1980s and the fifth exhibition hall sums up the marketing campaigns of Amorepacific Group with video ads and viral videos of different periods, while the sixth exhibition hall presents cosmetics, household items, health foods and PR posters for the company. Through all six exhibition halls, you will be able to learn more about the enterprise activities and history of Amorepacific Group over the past 70 years.

Amorepacific Archive, however, is designed not only to exhibit the collection. Its ultimate purpose is to showcase the effort that Amorepacific Group has put into discovering and managing all the materials. By opening them to the public, it shows the importance of corporate records. In 2013, a new collection system was adopted for the more systematical management of records and, since then, nearly 3,000 materials have been added to the Archive every year. In other words, the history of Amorepacific Group is being stacked up in Amorepacific Archive even at this very moment.

Amorepacific Archive is open to all members of Amorepacific Group and the public as well. You all are welcome to visit the Archive and trace the history of Amorepacific Group through the past 70 years.
