Experiencing the refreshing and energetic run Korean style
Mori Run is a charitable event focusing on women’s health initiated and organized by AMOREPACIFIC, Korea’s largest cosmetic company, and endorsed by CWDF. All registration fees paid by the race participants would be donated to “AMOREPACIFIC Women’s Fund”.
This inaugural charity run impressed the runners with its fresh and energetic Korean style. In addition to the considerate on-site services and professional safety maintenance, each participant received an elegant runner’s kit that includes products of AMOREPACIFIC’s star brands. Spirited cheerleaders were lined up on the route to cheer up the runners with Korea-style rhythmical drumbeats. A post-race party highlighted by Hwang Chiyeul’s performance marked an exclamation point of the whole event and gave all the fatigued runners more unforgettable memories.
In order to spread the goodwill of the event, Mori Run also initiated an online campaign at “Rejoice Sport”, an online Chinese fitness community app on smart phones. During the past week, over 3,300 runners nationwide shared the enthusiasm and values by running in their own hometowns and accumulated a total mileage of 41,437 kilometers.
Emphasizing the prevention and treatment of the two major cancers for women
At the post-race party, all the participants witnessed an important moment – Charles Kao, President of AMOREPACIFIC China, donated RMB 8 million to the “AMOREPACIFIC Women’s Fund” under CWDF on behalf of the company.
At the donation ceremony, Mr. Kao expressed gratefulness to all the participants, “Caring for women has always been an essential objective for AMOREPACIFIC to demonstrate its social responsibility. This year, we have officially tied up with CWDF to focus on the prevention and treatment of breast and cervical cancer for women. During this event, we received active support from the non-profits, our own employees and every single participant of today’s Mori Run. We feel very touched and encouraged to further dedicate our efforts to providing necessary aid for more women who are in great need of immediate medical help."
Zhen Yan, Deputy Director of the Committee for Social and Legal Affairs of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), former Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), Vice President of CWDF, also attended the event. She praised AMOREPACIFIC’s long-term devotion to improving women’s health conditions in China, and also called for more people to join in this charity cause. She remarked, “Reducing the harms of two major cancers for women requires the rise of public awareness, as well as the continuous participation and support from various parties in the society. We believe the creation of the ‘AMOREPACIFIC Women’s Fund’ will accelerate this process and create a better societal atmosphere.”
