Amorepacific signed an agreement to support the research of rising skin scientists with Skin Science Research Foundation and selected winners of this year.

The rising skin scientist research support program aims to strengthen skin science research capability of Amorepacific as well as Korea and contribute to enhancing competitiveness. The program began in 2010, making this year the 11th year and has been extended for 5 more years.

Specifically, Skin Science Research Foundation selects four outstanding up and coming skin scientists every year and Amorepacific provides a total of KRW 40 million in research funding per researcher over two years. As of today, Amorepacific delivered KRW 1.56 billion in research funding to 39 researchers and will be supporting an additional KRW 800 million.

This year, the following research have been selected; ▲Yonsei University Yongin Severance Hospital Professor Kim Ji-hee’s ‘research on impact of particulate matter on skin’s immune response regulation by demodex species’, ▲Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital Professor Kim Jung-eun’s ‘identifying impact of adipokine on the common cause of obesity and inflammatory skin diseases’, ▲Chung-Ang University Hospital Professor Park Kui-young’s ‘research on mechanism of particulate matter causing worsening acne and identification of candidate materials for prevention and treatment’, and ▲Ajou University Hospital Professor Choi Ji-woong’s ‘analysis of National Health Insurance Service sample cohort with a focus on the impact of general anesthesia on skin diseases’.
