- Increasing Recycled Plastic Usage in Production Process to Actualize Sustainable Management Goals

Amorepacific and LG Chem entered a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Development and Supply of Sustainable Eco-friendly Packaging Materials' on 16th at Amorepacific's headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Through this agreement, Amorepacific plans to increase the use of recycled plastics in manufacturing cosmetics and household product packaging and introduce various sustainable products to improve environmental impact.

The two companies will specifically collaborate on the following: ▲ Developing carbon-reduced plastic materials and new products, ▲ Establishing a recycled plastic cooperation model, ▲ Creating consumer-friendly and eco-friendly products, and ▲ Expanding products using eco-friendly raw materials, all aimed to achieve their sustainable management objectives.

Myounggu Kang, Head of Amorepacific's SCM Unit, stated, "Based on the eco-friendly business philosophy of both companies, we anticipate this agreement will generate synergies between us." He further expressed, "Amorepacific is committed to joining hands with the entire business ecosystem and making the best efforts to create a more beautiful world."

Sunmin Yang, Head of LG Chem's NCC/PO Division, remarked, “It’s significant that two leading companies in their respective fields have partnered to expand the eco-friendly market.” He added, “LG Chem will lead the customized eco-friendly plastic market and proactively work towards its expansion.”

Meanwhile, Amorepacific is diligently practicing its sustainable management goal, 'A MORE Beautiful Promise,' reflecting its commitment to a better society and environment. They are continuing innovative efforts to reduce plastic packaging usage and achieve 100% recycling, reuse, and composting of plastic packaging.
