On January 2 and 3, Amorepacific commemorated the 15th anniversary of the passing of founder Suh Sung-whan at Jangwon Memorial Hall. The memorial service was attended by Suh Kyung-bae and other executives currently in office as they paid their respects at the family burial ground to honor the late founder’s life and work.
Suh Sung-whan, who passed away on January 9, 2003, is well-renowned for a number of things. He is considered as being not only a pioneer of Korean cosmetics history, but also an entrepreneur that fulfilled his social responsibility by sharing. Suh Sung-whan is also known for both inheriting and developing tea culture. In particular though, it was his will to contribute to humanity with beauty and health that has been passed down through the mission of Amorepacific as an Asian Beauty Creator.
Beginning with the memorial service held at Jangwon Memorial Hall this week, over 30 elder executives of Amorepacific will pay their respects at the family burial ground today to honor the late founder. They will also reflect on his spirit distributing rice cake made with soy sauce in all of the offices. New team managers will visit the memorial hall the following days on January 10 and 11.
Following in the footsteps of the company’s founder, Amorepacific will continue with its entrepreneurship as it heads into 2018 by resolving again to achieve the vision of becoming a Great Brand Company.
