Amorepacific Holdings has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Presidential Commission on Climate Crisis Response (co-chaired by Prime Minister Han Seong-sook and Civilian Chair Lee Chang-hoon; hereafter referred to as the Climate Commission) to promote the 'Green Profit Public Participation Expansion Campaign.' This agreement represents a public-private partnership connecting the Climate Commission's policy leadership with Amorepacific's ESG management capabilities and consumer touchpoints.
Held on the morning of August 25, the signing ceremony was attended by key leadership, including Kwon Sunchul, Head of the Safety, Health & Environment Team at Amorepacific; Lee Chang-hoon, Civilian Co-Chair of the Climate Commission; and Chun Young-hoon, CEO of Pulmuone Foods, a co-signatory. The 'Green Profit Public Participation Expansion Campaign' is a joint public-private initiative designed to provide practical ways for the public to practice carbon neutrality in their daily consumption while broadening access to the campaign.
Under this agreement, Amorepacific Holdings will lead efforts to foster a low-carbon consumption culture centered on 'sustainable beauty.' More specifically, the company will actively participate in the 'Net Zero Friends' initiative for future generations organized by the Climate Commission, supporting the realization of youth-led carbon-neutral ideas through project discovery, screening, and mentoring. Amorepacific has continuously driven greenhouse gas reductions across its operations—such as cutting plastic packaging use, increasing recycling, and establishing collection systems—and became the first Korean private corporation to achieve the global RE100 certification in 2025. Through this agreement, the company plans to further solidify its group-wide public-private climate response model.
Kwon Sunchul, Head of the Safety, Health & Environment Team at Amorepacific, noted, "Addressing the climate crisis goes beyond corporate sustainability management; it is about building a shared culture of action with consumers. Through this partnership, we will pursue a wide range of collaborative projects so that more the public can participate in efforts to promote low-carbon consumption habits and practice sustainable beauty."
