Edition No. 8 Beautifying Inside through Inner Beauty


In the 1960s, fair skin tone like Hollywood actresses was popular among women and some abused the use of crude rubber bleaching agents to whiten their skin or penicillin to get rid of acne. Amorepacific developed cosmetics that solved skin problems like freckles or acne, while at the same time, continuously studied products that helped skin by eating. And at last, 'Lady Curonic Acid', Korea's first edible cosmetics that monitored hormones and supplemented vitamins to fundamentally make skin tone clear and bright, was developed.

In the 1980s, around the time Seogwang Tea Garden was cultivated, Amorepacific founder Suh Sung-whan visited Taiwan to take a look at green tea seedlings. When he saw eel bones set aside at an eel farm, he had an idea about a health functional food that contained the power and nutrients of eels. He focused on developing the product as soon as he returned to Seoul and launched 'Manyoo', the no. 1 health supplement, after 4 years of dedication. It almost failed due to stringent review standards, but everyone's commitment toward health led the project to success.

V=B Program (current VITAL BEAUTIE), which was first unveiled to the world in 2002, offers solutions including products, diet and exercise plan according to different health problems of children, middle-aged women, and the elderly.
