This year sees the 8th year anniversary of the Sulwha Cultural Exhibition, which runs until December 31, 2014 at Sulwhasoo Gallery in Seoul, Korea. Titled ‘SKIN=NIKS,’ the Sulwha Cultural Exhibition offers a modern take on traditional culture and expresses traditional elements to cater to all five senses for harmony between generations.
SKIN=NIKS, the title of this year’s Sulwha exhibition, is SKIN spelt twice (NIKS is SKIN spelled in reverse). Holding up the mirror to skin, then, this exhibition explores questions about the kind of harmony and balance we pursues in our daily lives, with all the implications for reversed environment filled with the new settings and experiences that this entails. To put it another way, the surrounding environment, persons and their emotions all play a part in seeing the same object anew. The Sulwha Cultural Exhibition aims to expand the boundaries of the senses within the context of global regions, cultures, different generations and times. The curators have worked hard to offer a visitor experience that promotes interaction with the five senses by building on the success of previous exhibitions to explore the present value of tradition.
A whole host of cultural icons, including Korean celebrities, famous Thai actress Poyd Treechada and Chinese actress Liangjiang, attended the Gala Event held the day before this exhibition to celebrate the grand opening of the 2014 Sulwha Cultural Exhibition SKIN=NIKS.
On December 1, Sulwhasoo unveiled a video of its brand story titled Holistic Beauty from Asian Wisdom. You can watch the video at APG News Square.
