OSULLOC Teastone offers an in-depth tea experience

OSULLOC Teastone is situated next to OSULLOC Tea Museum for the experience of tea culture. Opened in 2013, OSULLOC Teastone has a mission to raise public awareness and understanding of the deep roots of Korean tea culture on Jeju Island. It runs the path on which Kim Jeonghui (pen name Chusa), one of the famous tea masters of Korea, was sent to exile. Designed around the motif of a traditional Korean ink stick and ink stone, the basis of the spiritual assets of Korean ancestors, Teastone embodies the willingness to foster Korean tea culture and make it flourish. Here at Teastone, a professionally trained tea sommelier guides you to make the right choice of tea and how to drink it for a more fun and interesting way to experience tea culture.

OSULLOC Teastone has both top and bottom floors. The top floor welcomes visitors with modern media art works reinvented from the drawing of Jeju Island and Kim Jeonghui's works titled Sehando and Chusachae by artist Lee Leenam presenting the beauty of Jeju Island from the past and present perspectives. Moreover, there is a special place to learn and enjoy fermented tea such as green tea, tea blends and many other types of tea. On the bottom floor, there is Samdayeon storeroom, which gives visitors a chance to watch the aging process of Samdayeon, representative fermented tea, and deeply appreciate the value of traditional Korean tea culture. Enjoy the taste of the tea fermented in the cedar barrel over the story of how cedar barrel and fermented tea were developed.
