Braille tags designed by Amorepacific win the Red Dot Design Award

- The beauty brand was awarded the Red Dot Design Award for Braille tags designed to help the visually impaired distinguish personal care products.

The Braille tags designed by Amorepacific became the winner of the Brands & Communication Design Category at the 2022 Red Dot Design Award.

Amorepacific developed the hair care and body care Braille tags for the visually impaired, who have difficulty distinguishing different personal care and hygiene products, like shampoo and body wash, which generally come without Braille labels.

The product comes in four types of silicon Braille tags, two types of postcards, and a Braille table. On the tags are Braille scripts for body wash, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner in both Korean and English. The tags, which have been designed to accommodate different size bathroom products, also come with embossed geometric shapes to help users distinguish each tag.

The Braille tags, which were thoroughly reviewed by visually impaired customers during their development, were donated to students at Seoul National School for the Blind, located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The Red Dot Design Award, hosted by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, is known as one of the three most renowned global design contests, along with the iF Design Award held in Germany and the IDEA Design Award held in the United States. Awards are selected annually and reward creative and innovative projects.
