I work as a landscape manager, nurturing the Botanical Garden through all four seasons, managing plants that change with each season and preserving their beauty. Beyond simply tending to the garden, I create distinct themes for different areas within the garden and monitor the plants’ changing conditions daily to provide appropriate care. Through various tasks—from preparing seasonal and space-specific exhibitions to introducing new plant species—I convey the happiness and health that plants bring to our visitors.

I consider my real hashtag to be #Botanical Curator. The Beginning of Beauty #Camellia Tree

The #Camellia Tree represents Amorepacific’s history and holds special meaning for me personally. I joined the company in 2019 when the Botanical Garden was renovated and participated in the detailed flowerbed creation stage. Among various plants, I directly cultivated and managed camellia trees that produce camellia flowers—one of Amorepacific’s heritage ingredients—which helped me sincerely appreciate the company’s philosophy and respect for plants. I always feel proud when looking at the camellia trees in the Botanical Garden, and one of my greatest joys is seeing visitors experience Amorepacific’s history here and leave with smiles on their faces.

The Value of Documentation #Camera

My day always begins with a #Camera. The first thing I do every morning is capture subtle plant changes to monitor their growth conditions. I document the seasonal changes of plants in photographs to plan and manage the landscape for the coming seasons. When fragrant plants like lavender or rosemary are in full bloom, I sometimes feel photographs can’t fully capture their beauty. Visitors to the Botanical Garden occasionally remark, “You must be so happy working in a place like this.” These moments make me appreciate the value and fulfillment of my work even more.

Staying Strong #Exercise

Landscape work requires more physical strength than expected, making health management essential. After work, I try to maintain my stamina through #Exercise. I consistently combine cardio and weight training to perform well in extreme weather conditions, whether during summer heat or winter cold. This is my essential routine for spending healthy days with plants.

Year-round Essential #Sunscreen

Skin care is crucial given the outdoor nature of landscape work. Since I spend considerable time in the sun regardless of season, #Sunscreen is always my essential item. I apply it thoroughly before coming to work in the morning and reapply it throughout the day to protect my skin. With sunscreen as my daily shield, I can fully enjoy working with nature. Don’t forget sun protection during your outdoor activities, too!

Practical experience is vital in landscape work. After graduating with a degree in landscape architecture, I completed the Korea Forest Service’s botanical garden specialist training program and gained experience working at a private botanical garden. While this specific path isn’t mandatory, showcasing your diverse experiences and unique expertise is invaluable. Above all, respect and love for nature are the most important things.
