Amorepacific Museum of Art Embarks on 'Joseon Dynasty Heritage Project' with domestic and international partners

The Amorepacific Museum of Art has signed a memorandum of understanding for the 'Joseon Dynasty Heritage Project' with the National Palace Museum of Korea, the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Denver Art Museum.

The Amorepacific Museum of Art (Director: Jeon Seung-chang) has signed a memorandum of understanding for the 'Joseon Dynasty Heritage Project', aimed at establishing a cooperative relationship for the exhibition, research, and utilization of Joseon royal heritage. This MOU with the National Palace Museum of Korea, the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum, and the U.S. institutions of the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Denver Art Museum (hereafter referred to as 'the 5 institutions') have taken place on June 14th at the National Palace Museum of Korea.

The main contents of the MOU include ▲ Mutual cooperation in relation to exhibitions, education programs, and research pertaining to the Joseon royal heritage. ▲ Joint planning for events, publications, and promotions utilizing the Joseon royal heritage. ▲ Exchange and coordination of human and material resources among the 5 institutions. Pursuant to this memorandum of understanding, the 5 institutions will jointly organize and plan to conduct various programs themed around the Joseon royal court sequentially over the next three years.

The 'Joseon Dynasty Heritage Project', a collaboration between esteemed museums from Korea and the United States, is designed to share the cultural heritage and research findings related to the Joseon dynasty, accumulated by each institution, with a broader international audience. The project aims to enhance the historical value of the Joseon royal heritage. To this end, the 5 institutions are planning to carry out various cooperative projects, including special exhibitions focused on the Joseon royal family, public lectures and seminars, field study tours, and the publishing of popular books.

Amorepacific has been actively working through the Amorepacific Museum of Art to promote Korea's beautiful culture domestically and abroad. In addition, as part of efforts to promote Korea's traditional cultural heritage worldwide, Amorepacific has sponsored special exhibitions at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and programs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Going forward, Amorepacific aims to continue its collaborations with various institutions both in Korea and internationally, to raise the profile of Korean traditional culture, including the Joseon royal heritage, to preserve and pass on cultural legacies, and to help spread the beauty of our culture around the globe.
