What is sustainable beauty? Today, individual consumption is no longer separate from one's values. Instead, it's a conversation and a journey with brands that align with our attitudes and directions in life. We have met with brands taking bold steps towards reducing plastic and dreaming of sustainable beauty that will continue into tomorrow. We've heard the stories about their values and the changes they aim for.
part 1. The Product Development Stories You Didn't Know
Amorepacific has always strived to make a more beautiful world, grounded in a deep empathy with customers, society, and nature. Since declaring an environmental responsibility principle in 1993 and initiating the Pacific Green Movement, they have carried out various 4R activities (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, Return) to minimize unnecessary plastic use. In the medium to long term, they aim to “reduce” the use of new petroleum-derived plastics in products, increase the “recycle” of packaging materials, expand the “reuse” of plastic packaging through refillable products, and implement a “return” strategy to recycle containers collected from customers, encouraging more customer participation in container collection campaigns.
Significantly, each brand within Amorepacific prioritizes plastic reduction according to its core values and develops brand campaigns that encourage value consumption. They continuously strive to incorporate socially and environmentally friendly attributes into new product development and existing product improvement because they believe moving in the right direction is crucial, even if it takes more time.
All brands are contributing their efforts to reduce plastic consumption internally. Furthermore, they support and help conscious consumers who care about the environment and aim for sustainable beauty in their everyday lives. From small changes in cosmetic containers for convenient recycling to product developments that encourage container reuse for refill convenience, to research aimed at increasing the biodegradability of contents, and to packaging using recycled plastic - the research and development are performed in the hope that the products are easily recycled and will not harm nature even after leaving the producer's hands.
part 2. Towards a Better World
As one brand's core ethos goes, ‘If it's gentle on people, it should be gentle on nature too,’ the values of brands that care for both the human body and the environment are reflected in Amorepacific's overall approach, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility for the climate crisis facing humanity. Products that negatively impact the environment are no longer welcomed, and customers support a sustainable future through value consumption. The belief is that small changes and practices will shift societal perceptions and values, offering a new direction for our future. This is why the changes brought about by Amorepacific's commitment to nature and humanity is so anticipated.

Making a more beautiful world.
It’s the purpose behind everything we do at Amorepacific.
It’s why in 1993 we dedicated ourselves to taking full responsibility for the impact of our products.
Rather than celebrating accomplishments, we focus on what needs to be done next.
Always asking: “how can we create new beauty that benefits the world”?
We start with deep empathy for our customers, society, and the natural world all around us.
Creating the ties that bind and working together to create a more beautiful world.
In that spirt,

We will:
Use Less.
Recycle More.
Maximize plastic lifespans.
It’s our responsibility, and our commitment.
